My current life and work reflect an intention to slow down & cultivate connection to location, land & community. With a commitment to let curiosity lead and guide – these small batch, handbuilt, vessels & pots incorporate  wild clays, multiple firing temperatures (including wood fire) and a variety of terra sigillatas, oxides & glazes.

BIO

I spent 25 years as a figurative ceramicist, living 50 miles southeast of Asheville, in the foothills of Rutherford County, NC.  I earned my BFA in Mixed Media from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, studied ceramics at Penland School of Crafts and sculpture at Florence Academy of Art. I live with my husband, who has retired from performing arts management, and my studio mate Bo, a blonde hound dog mix.

I have exhibited regularly at high-end Art Fairs throughout the Eastern and Midwestern U.S., including SPECTRUM during Miami Art Week, the Philadelphia Museum Fine Craft Show, The Milwaukee Art Museum Lakefront, The Mint Museum Potters Market Invitational, American Craft Exposition, CraftNEWYORK, the Washington & West Palm Beach Fine Craft Shows, as well the Baltimore and Atlanta American Craft Council shows.  I have participated in numerous group and solo gallery exhibitions throughout the U.S. , with work in several permanent museum collections and published in six books, as well as numerous magazine articles. I am represented by Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, Abel Contemporary Gallery in Wisconsin and am grateful to be a 2008, 2011 & 2024 North Carolina Regional Artist  Grant recipient.
